The Sisters of the Precious Blood are sponsoring a program on welcoming refugees January 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at Salem Heights, 4960 Salem Ave. in Dayton.
Representatives from Christianity, Judaism and Islam will share the teachings of their faith as applied to refugees. Catholic Social Services will explain the process refugees face when entering the United States and two refugees will share their personal experiences.
The program will detail the challenges of immigrating to the United States as well as explain the historical perspective on immigration.
Everyone is welcome to join us for lunch following the program. There is no cost, but free will offerings are appreciated. Doors open at 8:45 a.m. with the program beginning promptly at 9. Enter the Salem Heights grounds off of Denlinger Road.
